About the Class

This program will be taught within a “retreat” environment. Literature about transpersonal psychology will be presented, along with transpersonal research studies that explore treatment outcomes of EMDR as a transpersonal therapy, as well as the impact of a transpersonal approach to psychotherapy.
An authentic Hawaiian priestess will take us through a meditation and ceremony at powerful sacred sites on the Island. The program includes participation in an evening gathering of drumming, meditation, and ceremony, in accordance with the policy and permission of the hosting facility. Hawaii Island Retreat’s eco-boutique hotel and wellness spa is a place of intentional peacefulness, set among towering evergreens and ocean breezes along Hawaii Island’s North Kohala coast. The Hawaii Island Retreat is offering a special all-inclusive package rate depending on double or triple occupancy, and choice of accommodation. All reservations for room and board will be made directly with the Hawaii Island Retreat. They are located at 250 Lokahi Road / 185, Kapaau, HI 96755, about a one-hour drive north from the Kona Airport on the Big Island of Hawaii.

Requirements for Attendance

This program is highly experiential, aimed at bringing awareness to consciousness itself, and changing the context of experience. This workshop is intended for licensed Mental Health Professionals.

**This is not an EMDR basic training. Non-EMDR trained therapists are required, prior to the workshop, to read: Shapiro, F. (2018). Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing: EMDR, basic principles, protocols, and procedures. (3rd ed.) New York, NY: Guilford.

This includes transportation on day three of the program to local sacred sites on the island. A separate registration is required for room and board at the beautiful Hawaii Island Retreat Center. You must register with Hawaii Island Retreat even if you plan on commuting, or your registration is not complete. The Presenter

Irene Siegel, Ph.D., LCSW, is director of Center Point in Huntington N.Y. where she conducts her integrative EMDR therapy practice and teaches meditation and healing. She studied the ancient healing arts of indigenous native cultures throughout North and South America, and teaches the integration of Western psychotherapy with ancient healing arts as depicted in her recently published book, The Sacred Path of the Therapist: Modern Healing, Ancient Wisdom, and Client Transformation. As an Approved EMDR Consultant, teacher and lecturer she has broken through traditional barriers introducing the innovative concept of integrating mindful awareness and resonance into the EMDR protocol. Certificates for 30 EMDRIA credits and 30 CEs are awarded online by ce-classes.com only to those who complete the entire course, sign in and out each day, and submit an evaluation form.
